PORTFOLIO - Allan Edgar, La Marque – Mark of the Hand

Photo n&b: vue en plan d'un objet en métal de forme orgivale sur fond abstraitA native British Columbian, Allan Edgar has a fine-arts degree from Camosun Visual Arts College in Victoria and currently works and lives in Montreal. He works directly on large-format black-and-white negatives and on his final proofs, using, among other things, selective toning, varnishes, and abrasives.

The result is very large images that bear the marks of his interventions, sometimes producing a disturbing effect. His traces are integrated with the works to allow a multiple and open reading.
