PORTFOLIO - Ethan Eisenberg, Holyland: from the Time of the Peace Process
Ethan Eisenberg has a master’s degree in fine arts (photography) from Concordia University, Montreal. He currently lives in Toronto, where he has been a freelance photographer since 1993. For the last three years, he has been involved in a documentary photography project in the heart of the occupied territory of the Gaza Strip, in Jewish settlements, and in Jerusalem.
Living and working in Jewish and Palestinian communities, he photographs in regions directly affected by the peace treaty signed between Arafat and Rabin. His goal is to photograph on a daily basis the upheavals suffered by the people who are being asked to forget the injuries and reflexes engendered by a long armed conflict. The project comprises almost forty photographs.
