PORTFOLIO - Sara Angelucci, Evidence of Her Disappearance

Vidéogramme n&b: femme d'âge mur dans un jardin potagerSara Angelucci was born in Guelph, Ontario, where she earned a bachelor of fine arts; she is currently studying for a master’s degree in visual arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. For the past several years, her multimedia works, which include photography, have explored the notion of cultural identity in relation to her personal and family history.

A second-generation Italian-Canadian, Angelucci questions her cultural duality and the maintenance of the family nucleus as a site of exchange with and integration into a new culture. Through images of her grandmother, Evidence of Her Disappearance examines the condition of immigrant women and the isolation they often suffer. The installation includes Duratrans proofs and a video excerpt.
